Board honors two enforcement staff for 20 years of service

The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board on July 1 recognized two enforcement staff members marking 20 years of state service.
Director Lawrence "Larry" Grant presented the first recognition and said Paul has worked across enforcement and education functions, moving through multiple regional posts and stepping into managerial duties during staffing gaps. Paul responded, “I've enjoyed, overly enjoyed the the last 20 years that I've given to the state,” and thanked colleagues for their support.
Jennifer Dube introduced Captain Matt Murphy, recounting his early assignments, training roles and promotion to cannabis captain. Murphy, joining by video, reflected on unexpected duties during his career and praised mentorship: “Every day has brought a new challenge, memorable experiences, stories I'll never forget,” he said, adding he looks forward to whatever comes next.
Board members offered brief remarks of appreciation. The chair noted the enforcement team's role informing the board on enforcement actions and thanked both employees for their long service.
