LCB staff describe SharePoint wiki, RIM fair and large records destruction effort

Victoria Owen, who presented the records‑management portion of the briefing, described a new SharePoint wiki that serves as a centralized knowledge hub for procedures, templates, the public‑records calendar and exemption guidance. The hub is intended to standardize practice across divisions and make it easier for staff to find redaction keys and contact information.
"It's our centralized hub for everything," Owen said, summarizing a project that includes quarterly meetings with division records coordinators, training for employees on retention and email‑labeling and a records and information management fair held for the first time this year. Owen said the program has reviewed 37 destruction logs from May 2025 to the present and that 78,930 files have been properly destroyed within the year to reduce review workload.
Owen and other presenters said consistent retention and destruction processes will reduce the volume of material that must be reviewed in response to broad requests, improving timeliness and lowering litigation exposure.
