NDOW reports fish stocking, habitat rehab and upcoming survey flights for Elko County

Cody Byrne of NDOW summarized recent and planned department work in Elko County: fall fish stocking has wrapped up locally; a new biologist will be added for the White River/Brune/Jarbidge systems; habitat rehabilitation, reseeding and herbicide applications are underway as soil moisture improves; and game‑division aerial survey flights for the region will start in the coming weeks.
Board members expressed interest in how accounts and program outputs will look and noted the next local CAB meeting is scheduled for 01/21/2025. NDOW staff said some regional fieldwork was already underway in other parts of the Eastern Region, and that local flights will commence shortly.
