Residents urge broader public engagement and interjurisdictional coordination on Aspen entrance alternatives

Public commenters Rachel and Tony Kronberg urged more fulsome public engagement on alternatives for the town entrance and the transportation corridor to Snowmass and Castle Creek. Rachel praised the start of an environmental-impact process under NEPA and asked for interactive maps and longer public scoping that show trade-offs between alternatives; she told the council she was concerned the agenda allowed only 45 minutes for a complex topic. "I just wanted to really thank you for starting the environmental insight impact statement process through NEPA," she said.
Tony Kronberg echoed the call for deeper engagement and asked the city to take the lead coordinating with the county, CDOT and the airport-layout-plan process; he argued that meeting the corridor's challenges requires more frequent interjurisdictional EOTC meetings than the single annual slot currently scheduled. Councilors acknowledged those concerns and noted the EOTC agenda is set by the county for the upcoming session; they encouraged participation at the Thursday EOTC meeting and said further coordination could be pursued.
