Krebs council adopts OMAG random drug-testing procedure for employees

Council discussed and adopted the random drug-testing procedure provided by OMAG. Attorney Ronnie May told the council "This is standard language from OMAG. This is what OMAG recommends," and explained that while cities are not required to have a policy, adopting OMAG's recommended language addresses liability, due process and safety concerns.
Councilmember Dan Heathcock asked whether smaller municipalities use the same language; Ronnie May said he could not differentiate municipalities by size and that the OMAG text is a standard recommendation. The motion to adopt the procedure passed by recorded vote.
