County staff sought and received approval to extend the Empire Access contract deadline as crews complete remaining fiber builds and billing reconciliation delayed by winter weather and NYSEG pole-attachment work. Staff said the build is nearly complete with "less than 10 miles left" and that they expect billing to be closed in April or May, so the committee authorized a six-month extension to September 30.
Committee members requested a future presentation on the project's take rate and outreach; staff agreed to arrange a presentation once field crews and billing close out. Staff also said the project remains on budget and that some additional homes were added to scope after initial planning.
