On June 8, 2026 the Union County STR Board voted to remove the county SEO from a voting role on the board and convert that seat into an at-large position selected by the board.
Board Chair Patrick Woodall moved to make the new board position an at-large member; AnaLuisa Salvatti seconded the motion and the board recorded the outcome as 'all in favor.' The motion carried. The change was proposed as part of a set of potential ordinance revisions the board reviewed from Attachment 2.
Board members said the adjustment was intended to preserve balance on the panel while keeping the SEO as secretary to the board. The item was paired with other definitional edits; further language on the definitions of 'STR Owner,' 'At-Large,' 'Property Owner,' and 'Landowner' was tabled for a July work session to allow more time for discussion.
