Council approves moving unused storage building from cemetery to fairgrounds
Summary
The Town of Porter unanimously approved relocating an unused storage building from Greenwood Cemetery to the Porter Fairgrounds to hold tables and chairs for rentals; the building will be sited on the west side of the fairgrounds property.
Mayor Steve Dickey said the storage building at Greenwood Cemetery is not being used and proposed moving it to the Porter Fairgrounds to store tables and chairs for rentals. Norma Meyer moved to approve the relocation; the motion was seconded by Lucas Beaty and passed unanimously.
Jackie Todd said the building "will be put on the West side of the property." The council recorded a unanimous vote in favor: Ryan Moore, Steve Dickey, Norma Meyer, Kevin Walker and Lucas Beaty. The move is intended to provide onsite storage for event supplies when renters do not want to use chairs and tables provided by the fairgrounds.
