The Buffalo County Law Enforcement and Emergency Management Committee approved law enforcement vouchers, law enforcement expenditures and the revenue report during its March 4 meeting after members raised procedural questions.
Kassie Serum invited questions on the vouchers; committee member John Hadley asked why Lucas Lisowski was reimbursed. Serum said Lisowski used his personal card while starting training and was reimbursed. Sheriff Mike Osmond confirmed it is county policy to pay for meals while officers are at training. Robert Sendelbach moved to approve the vouchers and Nathan Nelson seconded. The motion carried. Later the committee approved law enforcement expenditures (Carol McDonough moved; Nathan Nelson seconded) and accepted the revenue report after John Hadley asked whether the City of Alma was satisfied with services; Osmond said he had not heard any complaints.
Why it matters: the approvals allow routine law enforcement billing and reimbursements to proceed and documented that the department is following county policy on training-related expenses. The committee also recorded that dispatch is moving toward a May 5 cutover.
All routine vouchers, expenditures and the revenue report were approved as part of the meeting's consent actions.
