MTSS Director Kristi Krieg told the board that the district plans to offer kindergarten-ready parent classes to help prepare incoming students, and that the district intends to re-apply to retain a grant-funded homeless liaison position held by Sarah Prock. Krieg also reviewed special education and Outreach enrollment and highlighted Outreach teacher Cicely Amato's work teaching CTE classes and designing a framework for an additional Outreach CTE course.
Krieg said Outreach has coordinated with the high school counseling office to retain students struggling in traditional settings by transitioning them into the Outreach model, aiming to reduce losses to homeschooling or online programs. No funding decisions or hiring actions were finalized during the Jan. 29 meeting.
