Elementary Principal Lilly Martin reported enrollment and the start of WIDA testing for English Language Learners, saying the screening for ELL students will begin soon. Martin also described an analysis of discipline data showing a reduction in incidents after staff implemented "regulation stations," a de-escalation strategy for students.
Martin noted the school held a Spelling Bee on Jan. 17 (the winner may advance to regionals in Wenatchee) and that Missoula Children's Theater is scheduled for next week. No budget or policy changes were proposed during the elementary report.
