The Steuben County Finance Committee authorized two budget transfers on March 10 to move a combined $2,385,000 into road improvement accounts. The committee approved transferring $245,000 from the Road Projects Fund to the 2025 Road Improvements unassigned account and $2,140,000 from Road Improvements unassigned to the 2026 road project funds.
Both motions were moved by Jeffrey P. Horton and seconded by Robert V. Nichols and passed 5-0. Committee members and staff treated the transfers as routine adjustments needed to align funding with project timing. No projects were specified by name during the motion; staff will administer the funds as part of the county’s 2025 and 2026 road program.
