Board previews $1.1M in new grants and adopts 2026–27 budget items

"To put together these 4 grants, they hold just over $1,100,000 for our district in the next 2 to 3 years," the finance presenter said, calling the awards “very exciting” and noting the funds will support nutrition services, construction/CTE pathways, and New Tech programming.
The presenter also flagged a possible increase in special-education ADA funding if the governor’s May revise passes — from approximately $999 per ADA toward a higher figure (transcript cited $1,340), which could mean hundreds of thousands more for the district — and noted a potential COLA increase from 2.87% to 4.31% with related mandated employer costs. Trustees asked about matching-fund requirements for specific grants and discussed CalCard implementation.
