The Blackford County Board of Commissioners met Sept. 3, 2024, in Hartford City and approved routine business including minutes, payroll and county claims. The Aug. 19 minutes were approved on a motion by Commissioner Laura Coons, seconded by Commissioner Dan Borgenheimer; the board recorded a unanimous 3–0 vote.
Commissioners approved regular claims of $270,142.16 and miscellaneous claims of $505.52 on motions by Coons, seconded by Borgenheimer. Payroll claims of $94,311.18 and regular payroll PPE 8/16/2024 of $167,188.40 were also approved by the same vote. "The vote was 3/0," the meeting record states. The board additionally authorized several highway purchases and a Montpelier road closure (see separate items).
