Elementary principal reports competition win, PTO funds climbing wall and upcoming events

Elementary principal Lilly Martin briefed the board on recent achievements and upcoming ES events at the Feb. 26 meeting.
Martin said the district's 5th grade took first place at a Math is Cool competition and described a Read Across America reading challenge that enters participating students into a drawing to 'silly string' a staff member. She noted the ES PTO funded the installation of a rock-climbing wall in the elementary gym and that a reptile program is scheduled for March 7 thanks to PTO support.
Martin also said staff participated in GLAD refresher training and staff are planning Classified Staff Appreciation Week and parent conferences in March.
