Committee creates state-required and social services positions, asks for documentation on funding

The committee approved the creation of one Senior Social Work Assistant position in Community Services (CSEA Grade L), which county staff said is required by the State pursuant to Mental Hygiene Law Sections 9.47 and 9.48. County Manager Jack K. Wheeler and personnel staff said supporting documentation from the State or grant guidance will be attached to future requests.
The committee also approved personnel actions for Social Services: two Help Desk Technical Assistant positions (CSEA Grade G), two Caseworker positions (CSEA Grade K), and one Computer Operations Supervisor (CSEA Grade N). Members asked that when positions are described as "required by the State" the committee receive the supporting documentation and that grant-funded positions be returned to committee if funding ends.
