Council voted unanimously to permit ACJC to apply for the grants. "I'll move for the permission to apply for the four grant requests listed in number one," Councilman Tom A. Harris said during the motion; the Council approved the motion 6‑0‑1.
Kyler also requested funding to replace two vehicles that county service flagged as redlined; Council approved the vehicle purchases totaling $96,000 on a motion by Councilman Harris. Kyler noted one vehicle scored a 26 and the other a 34 on the service assessment, and members voted to proceed with replacements. The grants' awards and vehicle procurement will be processed administratively and reported back to Council when finalized.
