Sheriff Rick Meyer provided July statistics and informed the board that the Indiana Department of Corrections owes the county $186,000 for holding inmates. Meyer also reported the county received an insurance check for a totaled canine vehicle in the amount of $18,931.15 and requested permission to use that insurance payment and cover the remaining replacement balance from the Commissary Fund.
Commissioner Matt Reedy moved to approve the use of the insurance check and commissary funds as requested; Commissioner Drew Storey seconded and the motion passed with three yes votes. The minutes state the jail report itself was incomplete at the time of the meeting.
