Amanda Lowery, appearing on behalf of the festival committee, requested closing "Main Street from Church Street to Commerce Street; Water Street from Main Street to St. Louis Street; Commerce Street from Main Street to Hwy 135" from 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025. Commissioners approved the closures by motion and a three-to-zero vote.
The board's approval directs county authorities to implement temporary traffic controls and coordinate closures with local law enforcement and highway staff. Festival organizers told commissioners they will manage safety and sanitation for the event; the county did not attach additional conditions to the motion at the Sept. 2 meeting.
