Karla Hubbard presented a renewal contract for Lin Montgomery to continue as Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. Hubbard told commissioners it is the second year of a five-year contract cycle and that Montgomery has worked with the county since 2008, collaborating with EMA, law enforcement, EMS and fire partners on the county emergency plan.
Commissioner Markel moved to approve the renewal and Commissioner Storey seconded; the motion passed with three yes votes. The minutes note Montgomery works closely with a backup coordinator who will retire at some point; staff said Montgomery helps "connect all the dots with all the partners."
