Jerome County reviews park payment handling; overlook grand opening set for May 11

Jody Revai suggested creating an account staff could use to hold money before transferring it to the county; Nina Lagle said handling park payments similarly to how the county handles landfill payments — depositing into a county account and issuing weekly checks — would be the best solution. "Money would be deposited into a county account and a check would be written from the account weekly that could be delivered and deposited with the county," the meeting record states. The Clerk's office will check with outside auditors to confirm the preferred transparent, auditable process.
Staff also announced a planned grand opening for the overlook: "the overlook project is looking to do a grand opening on May 11th at 11 am." No formal action was taken on payment changes at the March 17 meeting; staff were directed to follow up with auditors and return with a recommended process.
