Boards approve splitting $4 million GO bond receipts 50/50 after divided debate

The joint body voted to appropriate the funds 50/50. The motion was moved by Dale Bagshaw and seconded by Sam Sarkisian; the motion passed on a 4-2 vote. Council member Denise Konkle and Council member Jim Freiberger opposed, saying they wanted the boards to be specific about which projects would receive the funds before final appropriation.
Topping said the Auditor's office would code two capital spend lines to allow each board to spend from its line on approved capital-improvement projects. Board members agreed the split followed the signed resolution but differed over whether further specificity was required before directing funds to particular projects.
