Commissioners announce youth logo contest, recycling event and temporary Job Center moves

County Administrator Michael Colbert announced a Youth Logo Contest open to ages 16–24 to consolidate the county’s youth programs under one umbrella brand. He said the contest welcomes hand-drawn or digital entries, the winner will receive an iPad, runners-up receive Michaels gift certificates, and the deadline to submit artwork is April 30, 2026 at mcohio.org/youthlogocontest.
Commissioner Judy Dodge encouraged residents to bring clean Styrofoam to a collection event on April 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rose Music Center in Huber Heights. Commissioner Dodge said the event is open to all residents and aims to keep Styrofoam out of landfills.
Commissioner Carolyn Rice outlined temporary moves for Job Center services while a new Job and Training Center is built: starting May 4 Adult Career Services will be at the Business Solutions Center on Cincinnati Street and Youth Career Services at the Employment Opportunity Center on West Third Street; the Southview Center will open May 11 to house Job and Family Services, including Family Assistance and Child Support.
