Brian Horst, Senior Center Director, told the Fulton County Board of Commissioners that the Area Office on Aging (AOoA) conducted a site visit and "came up with 13 policies that they required to have in place for the Older Americans Act." Horst said he drafted the policies that were missing from the county handbook and submitted them to AOoA for review.
Commissioner Joe Short said the board should have legal staff "double check everything is good before approving." The board did not adopt the policies at the April 7 meeting; the discussion was a request that county counsel review the drafted material before any formal action.
