The Finance, Ways and Means subcommittee advanced numerous items to the full Finance Committee and placed several bills behind the budget during its April 14 session.
Clerk roll calls recorded the following committee actions (select items): House Bill 18 85 (online-gambling prohibition) — advanced to full finance (9–0); House Bill 21 35 (live-music resale assessment) — advanced (9–3); House Bill 23 49 (DCS annual childcare-reporting requirement) — advanced (13–0); House Bill 25 26 (DCS administrative measures) — advanced (12–0); House Bill 25 92 (municipal utility board seats) — advanced (9–3); multiple bills with noted fiscal impacts (for example House Bill 23 59, House Bill 17 55, House Bill 24 42) were placed "behind the budget" for later consideration.
"Mister chairman, you have 9 ayes, 3 nos," the clerk reported after one recorded tally, and on other items the clerk reported unanimous or near-unanimous support on the subcommittee floor. Many bills included adopted amendments prior to the roll call. Items advanced will be considered in the full Finance, Ways and Means Committee; items placed behind the budget will be reviewed later in the budget process.
