Chad Watson, Miami County Highway Supervisor, updated commissioners on routine operations including dust-control treatments and a trial calcium spray on 1300 N (from State Road 19 to the Wabash County line) and on 1150 South (300 E to Meridian Road). He said ditch mowing is ongoing and the department is performing minor patchwork on Bridge #106 on 250 East.
Watson told the board that final preparations are underway to begin converting select gravel roads to chip-and-seal, with work scheduled to start in Perry Township around June 9. He also warned the public to be mindful of county highway tractors working in the roadways.
