Corey Roser of Planning & Zoning briefed the Miami County Council on 2025 activity, saying building permits increased 27.2% and that the office handled 151 complaints. Of those complaints, 125 were classified as violations and Planning & Zoning resolved 99, for a resolution rate of roughly 79.2%.
Roser noted that the council in 2025 authorized an additional full-time code enforcement officer and converted a part-time building inspector to full-time to handle the increased workload. The council recorded those staffing changes as part of its 2025 actions and Roser’s report provides a baseline for enforcement workload going into the next budget cycle.
