Rep. Barrett seeks felony for intentionally blocking roadways; HB 729 sent behind budget

"This bill, as you all may recall, is dealing with the intentional blocking of highways, bridges, and overpasses roadways would create a class d felony," Representative Barrett said. He said the committee had considered the proposal previously and that it carries a small fiscal note.
The committee adopted amendment drafting code 012980 and, without recorded objection, placed House Bill 729 behind the budget for further consideration and potential funding.
Barrett framed enforcement of the measure in the context of recent protests and illegal immigration; he said he hoped the bill could be funded this year.
