Commissioners honor Trotwood Madison boys basketball state champions

Commissioner Judy Dodge and Commissioner Mary A. McDonald honored the Trotwood Madison High School boys basketball team during the Boardof County Commissionersregular session on April 21, 2026. Coach Carl Blanton Sr. said the team faced "the toughest schedule in the entire state of Ohio," but credited the players for "stepping up and performing key defensive assignments as well as scoring the basketball." Commissioner McDonald read a proclamation congratulating the players and coaching staff for winning the state championship.
Denise Moore, a Trotwood city councilwoman and alumna of Trotwood Madison High School, praised the team for success "on the court and in the classroom" and noted the squad received the Ohio Momentum Award for academic performance. The commissioners and county administrator posed for group photos with the team and coaching staff after the proclamation.
