Amy Bohardt, Director of the Animal Resource Center, described the team's main priority as "preserving the safety of pets and people while enriching the lives of others in Montgomery County." Brian Baker, an Animal Resource Center staff member, publicly expressed gratitude: "there is nothing he can say or do to express how appreciative he is of the work they do every day other than being able to express his gratitude and appreciation publicly."
The commissioners — Carolyn Rice, Mary A. McDonald and Judy Dodge — each reflected on the role animal control officers play in both public safety and difficult human situations and said they will visit the Resource Center later in the week to thank staff in person. The ARC team posed for group photos with commissioners after the proclamation.
