Sheriff’s Office to upfit 14 patrol cars, buy K9 equipment and body armor after unanimous vote

A separate purchase (Resolution 2026-0261) authorized $49,526.93 for body armor from Pro-Tech Sales to be paid from the Permanent Improvement Fund.
When Commissioner Lohnes asked how many sets of body armor would be purchased, Sheriff Chris Clark said he "believes 12." The Board also approved Resolution 2026-0262 to dispose of nine long riot shields judged past expiration and unsafe for use or sale. All motions passed on roll call with Commissioners Lohnes and Rittenhouse voting yes.
