Chairman Martin returned House Bill 4-84 to the subcommittee with an amendment that removed private insurance plans from the proposed coverage expansion for biomarker testing. Martin said the amendment narrows the bill’s effect to TennCare and state employee health plans to facilitate earlier cancer biomarker screening when ordered by a provider.
Committee members voted to place the amendment on the bill, and the roll call on the amended bill was 12 ayes and 0 nos; the subcommittee sent the amended HB4-84 to full finance for further consideration.
