Emergency Manager Matt Haviland asked the Board to set Course G0402, an incident-command training, for commissioners to attend and described the course as "around 3 hours long." Commissioner Myra Carlisle Frazier said she did not expect to be "out in the field" during a disaster and did not feel the full course would benefit her; Commissioner Cory Moates said he has taken numerous incident-command courses and likewise felt it would not benefit him.
Chair Frazier asked Haviland if he could prepare a condensed overview of about 20–30 minutes instead; Haviland "stated he could try." The Board did not take a vote on the training request at the meeting. The transcript records direction for Haviland to return with a shorter presentation at a future session.
