Jackson County commissioners approve minutes, payroll, claims; OK subdivision final plat and library appointment

Jackson County Commissioners convened Aug. 5 and approved routine business including the July 15, 2025 minutes, payroll of $586,767.17 and claims totaling $4,077,550.63 by unanimous motions.<br><br>Jonathan Issacs of Independent Land Surveying asked for final approval of the first phase of Harvest Meadows — "a 36‑lot subdivision on US 31 and a 2‑mile fringe of Seymour" — and said he was "posting a three‑year maintenance bond." Commissioner Reedy moved to approve the final acceptance and the board voted three yes, motion carried. The Brownstown Library Board's recommendation to appoint Tina McClure to replace Jackie Gibson also passed on a unanimous vote. Commissioner Reedy later told the board he will retire effective Sept. 16, 2025, and recommended Andrew Stoffer as his replacement.
