Council approves 2026 pool staff contingent on certifications

The Tecumseh City Council approved the recommended 2026 Aquatic Center staffing list, including Pool Managers Ava Klein and Anna Johansen and Head Lifeguard Maya Straka, along with named lifeguards, slide attendants and concessions staff. Councilmember Lorie Topp moved the approval and Councilmember Travis Goracke seconded; all members present voted aye.
The minutes state that all positions are contingent upon "successful completion of the lifeguard training/certifications" and that the Manager and Head Lifeguard "will need to become a Nebraska Pool Operator, and receive their Operator’s License." The approval therefore conditions hiring on completion of required training and licensure.
