Road Superintendent Joe Gardner reported several ongoing maintenance and infrastructure items to the Board. He said he would inspect a reported washout on 158 Road between S and T after clarifying which road was meant, and presented a Nextran Truck Center quote of $7,632.44 to repair the ECM on truck 05-17; Gardner said he would seek competitive quotes including from ICE and discuss options with mechanic Bryson.
Gardner also presented a Riley Electric bid for $2,910.00 to repair six bridge yard truck outlets identified during a Kansas Department of Labor inspection. Commissioner Linda Gerhardt moved to approve the Riley Electric bid; Commissioner Keith Kelly seconded and the motion carried 3/0. Gardner reported other recent work: replacing a tube at M6 and 102 Roads, clearing log jams, pouring concrete at the W4 bridge that must cure 28 days, placement of guardrails and planned rip rap, and that Chris Edelman with Husker Steel would complete an inspection.
