Commissioner Keith Kelly moved to approve the low bid from Heinen for $20,100.00; Commissioner Linda Gerhardt seconded and the motion carried 3/0.
Chairman Mark Pruett expressed concern about prior service problems with Heinen, and Zibell responded that the bid is from Heinen’s Lawrence location and involves a different salesperson; parts could still be sourced from the Valley Falls location if needed. Zibell also told the Board that the July Jubilee had record turnout and that he will pursue a secondary exit subject to Kansas Department of Transportation approval; he reported vandalism in a restroom during the event.
