Council amends nightly-rental code to allow license transfer on sale

The council considered an amendment to Toquerville City Code (Title 10, Chapter 17, Section 4) to address transferability of nightly-rental licenses when a dwelling changes ownership. Planning Administrator Emily Teaters summarized the proposed language changes and their effect on permitting practice.
Councilwoman Val Preslar moved to approve the ordinance amending the nightly-rental transfer provision and Councilman Joey Campbell seconded; the motion passed unanimously, 5-0. City officials said the change updates the code to smooth ownership transitions for properties used for nightly rentals.
