Moose Lake School Board approves consent agenda, hires and vendor contracts

The Moose Lake School Board unanimously approved its consent agenda and a series of vendor and service contracts at a brief July 27 regular meeting.
Chair Ben Anderson called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m. and the board approved the agenda as amended to remove a City of Moose Lake presentation. The board then approved the consent agenda (motion by Paul Olson, second by Julie Peterson). The consent items included the June 22, 2026 regular meeting minutes; the June 2026 treasurer’s report; payroll for June 15, 2026 totaling $285,237.21 (checks #71363-71370 $5,630.52; electronic transfer $85,530.38; direct deposit $194,076.31) and June 30, 2026 totaling $207,694.18 (checks #71371-71376 and #71397-71399 $4,616.60; electronic transfer $63,745.65; direct deposit $139,331.93); and three bill lists totaling $89,283.36 (checks #72011-72044 $64,626.16; #72045-72059 $12,639.00; #72060-72074 $12,018.20). The consent agenda also approved hires: Summer Keuten (bookkeeper/accounts payable) effective July 15, 2026; James Calhoun for the boiler contract effective July 8, 2026; and Shelby Plank as Mini Moose Toddler Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.
Separately under Action Items the board approved vendor quotes for bread, milk, garbage, newspaper and snow plowing for 2026–27 (motion by Ben Anderson, second by Paul Olson); approved a Cybersecurity Service Agreement with Ed Midwest (motion by Julie Peterson, second by Paul Olson); and approved the district’s 2026–2027 resolution for membership in the Minnesota State High School League (motion by Lisa Anderson-Reed, second by Paul Olson). All motions passed unanimously.
