Designers say arena can host concerts, expos and rodeos; plaza and Midway can hold large outdoor events

They also said the Midway/plaza area could host large outdoor festivals and estimated standing capacity in the Midway could reach tens of thousands depending on layout and ingress/egress design; engineers on the team said the Midway footprint is about 12.8 acres of grass and that detailed crowd-density calculations remain to be completed by the engineering team.
Committee members asked about convertible floor surfaces, ventilation/exhaust for animal events, and the ability to host varied motorsport or specialty events; presenters confirmed the arena is designed for flexible ceiling heights, hang points and footing systems to accommodate equestrian shows, expos, concerts and other uses. The committee directed the design team to preserve flexibility in the floor and staging arrangements as design proceeds.
