Superintendent Dr. Ryan Phelan told the board that a new bus has arrived on campus and encouraged community members to view it at the bus yard. He reported the district's diesel figure as $20,016.31 and said the per-student cost for Grad Night to Disneyland this year is $360, including bus and food. He also reiterated that the new marquee has been well received and thanked the Kingsburg Healthcare District for its support.
Principal Ivan Nunez provided school updates including Rivalry Week scheduled for Oct. 27–31 and a university application deadline tied to the end of first quarter on Oct. 16. Student representatives Grace Fan and Emmanuel Gutierrez reported on Homecoming and the downtown rally plans; Grace said, "Homecoming week was fun and the game was great." The Math Department, led by Ken Harvey, described instructional staff development and tutoring supports and noted, "The Math Department is a hard-working department."
