Council approved Resolution 2024-R-29 to correct clerical errors in the earlier fee schedule — for example restoring a stormwater monthly charge to $8.02 from a typographical $78.02 and correcting the nonresidential solid-waste charge to $33.71. Staff said the corrections were noncontroversial technical fixes to align the schedule with intended rates.
Separately, council ratified amendments to collective bargaining agreements with the Edgewater Professional Firefighters (IAFF Local 4575) and the Coastal Florida Police Benevolent Association, each including a 5% wage increase for eligible employees effective the first full pay cycle in October 2024 and staff/union meetings in January 2025 to discuss possible additional increases. Council also accepted an interlocal agreement with Volusia County to coordinate transportation impact fees required by state law (HB 479), a step staff said would avoid automatic fee reductions for developers and keep collections and remittance status quo.
