At its July 29 meeting, the Phippsburg Select Board and Planning Board recorded the following formal actions:
- Accounts payable warrant No. 10 for $90,711.51 was presented and approved for signature by the Select Board.
- The Select Board moved to create an ad hoc solid-waste committee of no more than five members to review solid-waste contracts and tour facilities ahead of RFPs. Members discussed an eight‑month window to align with contract renewals.
- The board announced the transfer station will stop accepting mattresses and box springs as of Sept. 1; signage and attendant monitoring will support enforcement.
- The Planning Board tabled a shoreland pier application pending submission of updated project materials and written agency (DEP/IFW) comments on the revised 5-foot-wide design.
- The Planning Board approved a one-year extension on four shoreland permits for Campbell cottages based on receipts demonstrating more than 30% of project cost were expended, and accepted a business-permit relocation for the Farmer's Cupboard farm-stand (applicant to provide fee and copies).
