A council member asked whether the City of Monroe had discussed making its website more user friendly and better at promoting city services and tourism. Members said Rob Jacobson manages the site and that some rearranging had occurred recently, but they agreed more work is needed.
"It is hard to navigate even as somebody who knows the answers to some stuff," said a committee member who reviewed the site, adding that they "can't find the answers to a lot of questions on that website." Council members proposed assembling information, potentially forming a committee to explore options, and budgeting for bids from website contractors to make improvements.
Officials discussed the distinction between promoting tourism (working with chamber or GCDC) and providing resident-facing resources; they did not adopt a formal directive but asked staff to compile options for a future committee review.
