Commissioners noted grant-writing capacity is a limiting factor but said they will try to pull together a grant effort, including checking whether prior county engineering or feasibility reports can be reused in a new application. Staff said they will work on a grant feasibility summary this week and, if the superintendent and partners are available, will arrange a presentation before any formal commitment.
No formal vote or financial commitment was made; the commission directed staff to contact the superintendent and schedule a presentation once the superintendent has gathered additional details and potential grant partners.
