Council to consider short-term support for Burrows home operations after construction delay

Council members discussed tradeoffs — rebidding the main-house work to seek lower construction pricing versus paying immediate support to keep the foundation solvent and avoid losing event revenue. One council member observed that delaying work could increase contractor costs; staff said in-house crews have been performing carriage-house repairs at a lower cost and the city could rebid the main house for later construction. Council indicated general support for bringing a revised MOU back to a future council meeting for formal consideration.
