Board approves multiple field trips; Park Side hosts Ukrainian delegation

The board approved field trips on the consent agenda, including Park Side third graders to Steward of the Coast tidepools on April 8, 2026, Brook Haven seventh graders to Salmon Creek Beach on Dec. 10 and 12, 2025, and a Brook Haven seventh-grade trip to Chinatown, San Francisco on Jan. 9, 2026.
Park Side Principal Molly Bulwa reported that a Ukrainian delegation (a psychologist, teacher, special-education teacher and social worker) visited to learn how the school's counseling department, special education and regular classrooms are organized. "They brought a handmade poster that the Ukrainian students made for our school," Bulwa said, calling the visit a great experience. Bulwa also described parent conferences and a new report-card alignment that provided more concrete data for families.
