Neighbors ask board to curb weekend tournament noise, trespass at Brook Haven field

During the discussion portion of the Oct. 16 meeting, multiple neighbors described disruptive impacts from outside groups using the Brook Haven field on weekends.
"His concern is the noise levels from the field by outside groups using the field," neighbor Jay Goldin told the board, asking the district to restrict unauthorized access and consider installing a sound wall. Cara Viripaeff Baum and Shawn-Paul O'Dell echoed concerns about parking congestion, property intrusion to retrieve equipment, and weekend tournament noise beyond normal school activity. Parent and WESCO-affiliated Chris Kim noted that many players at tournaments come from multiple districts and that limited regional playing space increases demand.
Several neighbors asked that the district require outside user groups to sign agreements covering behavior and access and to provide advance notice of large events. Board members heard the concerns and listed facility use and policy review among future agenda items.
