Hanley described rectangular classrooms intended to provide clearer teacher sight lines across the space, a proposed two-classroom preschool layout and an afterschool area for older students. She said the design team met with the police chief to identify existing and potential safety concerns and planned future meetings with local safety departments to review best practices for student and staff safety.
Superintendent Sara Gramm and board members asked clarifying questions about classroom sizes, circulation between learning zones and how the preschool entrance would be separated from older-student areas. The board did not take action on the design; minutes record next steps are for district administration and the board to provide feedback and for the design team to develop a schematic design and space plan.
