The Clay County Board of Commissioners voted July 13 to participate in installing a four-way stop at the intersection of 9th Street and 19th Road after a request from the City of Clay Center. Commissioner Mayo reported the city had contacted him and moved that the county approve installing its sign; Commissioner Carlson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
County officials said the split installation will have the county place the east-side sign while the City of Clay Center places the remaining three. The decision was taken as part of routine highway business and was approved without dissent.
